How long does a bee box wrap last?

We use only 3M vinyl and overlaminate. 3M gives this vinyl a 3-7 year lifespan. Of course it depends on proper adhesion at installation and the type of environment the box is in. We have had our test boxes out in humid Louisiana weather for about 6 years so far and they still look great!

Are Bee Box Wraps weatherproof?

Bee Box wraps are printed on a 3M vinyl that is laminated with a clear vinyl protective coating both rated for outdoor use.  As stated above lifespan depends on quality of adhesion during installation but 3-7 years is 3M's given lifespan.

Will They Fade?

As stated above, we have had our test boxes in full sun use in humid Louisiana for about 6 years. We have noticed no fading. 

How long until I get my order?

Each set of Bee Box Wraps is printed and prepared when your order is placed. Please allow 3-5 business days for printing and production prior to shipping. We will ship as soon as possible after production is complete.

Will it hurt the bees?

No, We would never do something to intentionally harm our bees! We are beekeepers ourselves and are very conscious of what we expose to our bees. To our knowledge no components of BeeBoxWraps™ will harm bees.

Will it raise the temperature in the hive?

Although we have not done any scientific testing, the vinyl material used in BeeBoxWraps™ is only about 5-6 mils thick ( like a bumpersticker ) and should not cause any significant temperature variance in a hive. As with paint, certain colors may increase temperature more than others, if temperature is a concern, choose a design with lighter colors rather than darker as lighter colors reflect more of the sun's heat.  

Will this protect my hive boxes?

We don't sell this item as a protective measure for bee boxes. It may or may not add to the longevity of your hive boxes. This is a decorative item, and as far as we know it does not decrease the life of boxes.

Do you do custom Bee Box Wraps or Decals?

Do you sell wholesale?
